Pamela Cox

Pamela Cox is a Registered Psychologist and a member of the College of Counselling Psychologists of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma in Counselling and a Master of Arts.

Her counselling experience spans 30 years in a variety of settings including: Dianella Community Health, Western Centre Against Sexual Assault, Victorian AIDS Council/Gay Men’s Health Centre, North East Centre Against Sexual Assault and Australia Post.

In addition to working in these organisations, she has been operating a private psychological practice for over 25 years. In Pamela’s private work she is a provider with Medicare, Workcover, Transport Accident Commission, Victims of Crime, Department of Veteran Affairs, Bushfire Relief and private Health Funds.

Pamela works from a person-centred approach, which recognises that a client has experience, skills and resources for his/her own problem solving and raising awareness. She sees her role as a counsellor as providing support and encouragement so that clients can make positive life choices. Her role is also to ensure a safe environment for the expression of painful emotional material and exploration of new ways of being and understanding.
